Viswanathan Iyer

Vishwanath Iyer is a qualified Chartered Accountant from India. He is an all-India CA Final rank holder. He has over 25 years of professional working experience having worked in India and Middle East.

He has held senior finance leadership roles in various organizations including listed multinational organizations at regional and global level. He possesses rich experience in areas of financial management, fund raising, reporting, legal, tax and compliance matters among others. As part of the overall management team, Vishwanath has been involved in various key decisions relating to organizational strategy and growth.

Having worked extensively with logistics organizations has helped him gain a sound understanding of the operational areas of this industry. He has recently been involved in setting up companies from scratch.

As member of various associations, he has attended a lot of seminars and workshops over the years. Notable among them are:

1. Workshop of forensic auditing organized by ICAI Dubai Chapter

2. Comprehensive workshop on IFRS organized by ICAI Dubai Chapter (attended the exam as well and passed in first attempt)

3. Comprehensive workshop on VAT organized by ICAI Dubai Chapter

4. Various workshops on corporate tax organized by ICAI Dubai Chapter and Taxation Society

Notable achievements:

Vishwanath was part of the VAT panel at National Association of Freight and Logistics. NAFL is an association where most of the UAE freight forwarders are registered, and it works as a nodal association for the UAE freight forwarders. As part of the panel, Vishwanath was involved, among others, in educating the members about the importance of VAT and its compliance, understanding the law and its practical application by the members. He has presented on VAT aspects specific to the logistics sector.
